Linda Perri

A photo of Linda PerriLinda Perri is President of the Washington Park Association on Providence’s South Side.

She is a passionate, relentless advocate and voice for the people of Washington Park who struggle with the day-to-day realities of living near the Port of Providence. Linda mobilizes community members, including public officials, and organizations to fight back against an endless series of proposals to locate polluting industries on Allen’s Avenue and the Port. She has also organized protests against RI Recycled Metals.

Inspired by her attendance at the opening of Save The Bay’s public pier, Linda, in turn, inspired Save The Bay and the South Providence Neighborhood Association to persuade the City of Providence to petition CRMC to designate Public Street as a Right of Way. Linda is now participating in community meetings to design the public space of that ROW, which abuts the Providence River.
